Dr. Matthew Sloan is an orthopedic specialist and fellowship-trained hip and knee surgeon. Dr. Sloan has broad experience in clinical practice as well as research. Dr. Sloan is a native of Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. After developing a love for orthopedic surgery, he was accepted to the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Orthopedic Surgery residency program in Philadelphia, the oldest department of Orthopedic Surgery in the nation. He spent five years training among national leaders in the field of joint replacement, performing high volumes of primary and complex joint reconstruction procedures.
Dr. Sloan was accepted to the renowned total joint replacement fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School, in Boston upon completion of his residency program. Here he studied with national leaders in:

He has brought his skills in the treatment of total joint infections, revision surgeries, and periprosthetic fractures (broken bones around hip and knee replacement) to the area, so that patients no longer need to travel to the city for these services.
